Sadly, it won't be much of a break - I have lots of things to do there, including meeting the International Department at Caledonian University about student exchanges, seeking out a gallery and a theatre to take paintings and performers from Russia, discussing plans to export whisky and meeting an advisor to organise opening a representative branch of the Russian National Geographic Society.

Viruses, antiviruses and keeping your hard drive from going floppy

Went round to a friend's place today to investigate a virus-ridden computer. I had no idea a computer could have so many viruses and still keep running. After installing Norton, it was taking so long to do a system scan that I had to go home before it had even gone through 8,000 files.
