Pay-Per-Download site up and running!

I think it's now safe to say that my pay-per-download site is finally up and running. There are still some 'tweaks' to be done, like making the markup and CSS standards-compliant, as well as some imporvements to the admin side and the overall design, but these are minor matters and otherwise all is going to plan.

I read a long time ago about how made-for-Google sites were 'destroying the internet'. The sale of databases designed for creating 'instant websites' led to thousands of sites popping up with massive amounts of duplicate material, all carrying AdSense or similar ppc adverts...

Scottish Club Website

Although I haven't yet managed to get a hold of the login and password for the Scottish Club website, I'm well on the way to formulating a plan of attack for the project. The most challenging part will be to adequately reflect all the activities the club is involved in - from charity work and cultural events to tourism and education.

Google SEO success story

Not so long ago, http://www.topetersburgwithlove.com could barely be found in Google search results. It had good placing in MSN and Yahoo!, but what use is a site if it doesn't come up in Google? When the site was already one year old, it wasn't coming up anywhere in Google searches for the main (highly competitive) keywords "send flowers to saint (st) petersburg (russia)".

Pay-to-Download site for InterLingua

Mostly due to a lack of input from me, timesrussia.com has ground to a bit of a standstill, despite the heroic efforts of Sky Schoggins, editor-in-chief. However, the site still works and the project was a big learning curve for both me and Sky.
